Update: Salmonella Contaminated Tomatoes

Saturday, 19 July, 2008
Salmonella: Contaminated Tomatoes ban was lifted on July 17, 2008 by the FDA announcing they are safe to eat from all sources. What remains a concern now is jalapeno and serrano peppers and their connection to salmonella. People with weaken immune systems, infants, and the elderly should avoid consuming these two products raw. This warning is mainly for people who are at high risk, but if you're a bit worried I would avoid them altogether.

There is an investigation team investigating a pepper packing facility in Mexico. Stay tuned for updates.
