When I first "met" her back in October 2006, I knew there was something unique and special about her. I've never met her in person nor spoke with her on the phone. I met her on my forum and have only chatted with her there.
Her story on Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy or RSD touched me and I interviewed her for this blog entry.
Marla never let her chronic illness run her life. She lives her life the way she sees fit. She is full of life despite what obstacles may come her way and with that I've always admired her strength, courage and determination.
Yes, there is something very special about Marla. She's the type of person who walks into a room and lights it up. She has such a calming and soothing aura about her. Her energy is pure and positive and I've never met anyone who has that kind of presence or impact.
She has gone through a lot since the last time we spoke on my forum. I'm saddened by the fact that now fibromyalgia, osteoporosis and multiple sclerosis have also taken permanent residence inside her. I'm saddened by the fact this should never have happened to Marla.
But...
She's so much stronger than I am. She embraces it and learns to cope with it. Didn't I say Marla is unique??
You can catch Marla hosting a live weekly radio show discussing with others who live with chronic illnesses.
Marla is also studying to be a Life/Health Coach and she's writing a book.
Welcome back! You have been thought of often and you've been dearly missed.
I'm glad you're back!

Oh, I didn't know you wrote this update about me. I am sitting here with tears of appreciation streaming down my cheeks! I am so touched by all your kind words....they sincerely mean a lot to me!! Thank YOU!!
As for all my gifts, they visit me only on the days I allow them to, it's like I am the local rent-a-center for them and I get the last word to their rental desires that day and it's great! Well, until they give payback to me....LOL. But it's all in a days work!
And yes, they all are gifts in my life, because if God hadn't blessed me with them I would have never been able to help so many others with their chronic illnesses. And that has brought such joy and inspiration in my life, because so many have so much more strength and courage than I do, so as I am coaching them on their issues, they are inspiring me on others. It's amazing and I am so grateful for having be blessed with these gifts!
I have to say, among all your praise, you left out my being the first known RSD Coach™. Shame on you...LOL. Sorry, just had to throw that in there as well.
You are such a blessing to me and I so appreciate you so very much!
~God's Many Blessings To You~
Coach Marla
*mu ah*
Oh my goodness! Now that is a huge disservice! I was so happy to have you back...I forgot. LOL
Congratulations on being the first RSD Coach and I'm sure you're a godsend to many people who suffer from chronic illnesses that produce pain. (I say pain because I have a chronic illness -- asthma, but it's not debilitating for me)
I'm going to have to remember to catch your live radio show on Tuesdays.
:)
