It's just a beautiful day here on the West Coast of Canada. You'd think it was spring with the glorious sun shining, but then you quickly notice a light dusting of snow on the ground and the bare trees and you know spring hasn't quite sprung yet.
I know the weather here is unpredictable and crazy at times and spring will hit my family without notice. Knowing that will happen, but I'm not sure exactly when it'll happen...I'm not prepared for the onslaught of itchy noses and throats, itchy watery eyes and of course, massive sneezing bouts.
There's one natural product I'm armed with and it's hydraSense, a natural, nasal saline spray. It's not an all out cure, but it can temporarily relieve a stuffy nose; clean and flush out an itchy nose.
I take Vitamin C daily and because it's an immune booster this is a definite vitamin must-have.
I've also read drinking tea steeped in nettle is a good alternative. It reduces bronchial constrictions and provides temporary relief to sneezing and itchy eyes. Put one teaspoon of the dried herb in one cup of hot water and drink this three times a day. If it's not your cup of tea then you can take nettle in a capsule or tincture form.
Magnesium is also good for proper lung function and nettle tea contains magnesium. Magnesium can be taken in a powder form mixed in juice or water.

Happy Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day and regardless if you celebrate it by lavishing your loved one with flowers, chocolates and an expensive dinner out or you snuggle up and enjoy Chinese take-out, take the time to say "I love you".
I'm not a big Valentine's Day celebrator. I appreciate what I have every single day and that's my family's health and well-being. I love my hubby and my daughter with all of my heart (which weighs only about 8 ounces, but is strong enough to lift about 3,000 pounds!).
I don't have a healthy, sweet treat to share with you, but if you want to indulge go for quality, dark chocolate.
Happy Valentine's Day!
